Our latest Nazar print stories are largely inspired by the colours and rustic textures of the ancient walled city of Dubrovnik... We are so in awe of the beauty of the Old Town - the city's baroque buildings, marbled streets and idyllic coastline surrounded by a deep azure sea. Planning a getaway to Dubrovnik? Here are a few travel tips from us...As soon as you arrive, make sure you spend some time wandering the labyrinth of little pebbled streets... Immerse yourself in your surroundings. At Tigerlily, we love a door - every rustic and overgrown entrance seems to tell a story...
Taste the delicious fresh produce from the local market in Gunduliceva Square - open from 7am to 1pm Monday to Saturday. In the summertime the strawberries are to die for!
At night, visit some of the local restaurants for fresh seafood and Croatian wine... We love having a drink at Cafe Buza (also known as the 'hole in the wall') - outside the city walls near St. Stephen's Tower... Sit on the rocky terraces overlooking the open sea - a great place to enjoy a sunset or even jump off the fortress rocks into the warm shimmering water.
Take a look at some of the beautiful Croatian handicrafts... Dubrovnik is very well known for its embroidery from Konavle... Women traditionally decorate their headdresses, aprons, skirts and linen in primary-coloured geometric patterns.
Last but not least - don't forget to pack plenty of bikinis! Jump off the rocky coastline or visit Banje Beach - just beyond the 17th-century Lazareti outside Ploče Gate. The overall vibe of Dubrovnik is very relaxed so expect to spend many afternoons lazing in the blissful Croatian sunshine.
